Readers deserve royal treatment, like kings & queens. I thank each reader from the bottom of my heart for the engagement and the support.

As the year comes to end (and what a year for Fintech and not only) I share with you all the 10 most popular articles. They are the ones that Medium tells me were the most read amongst a total of 44 that I published in 2022.

As I look back to put together this selection, I am reminded of the intensity and the variety of topics that were top of mind during 2022 (needless to say that I these themes are only part of the 2022 Fintech happenings).

In February, readers were interested in the complexity and the behind-the-scenes reality of Cefi cryptocurrency transactions through the insights of Duco, Fidelity Digital Assets, and BlockFi.

The untold secret of crypto reconciliation & more

In March, interest peaked as Russia`s Central Bank US Dollar reserves were frozen and I discussed potential implications.

Blocks are untouchable but Central Banks aren’t.

It seems that in Q1 2022, crypto related themes dominated (before the Terra Luna failure and the FTX fraud). Another March article that I wrote looking into Gold backed tokens and their popularity or lack of, was of great interest to my audience.

5 Gold-backed Tokens and one harsh reality

In Q2, interest switched to payments with two very popular articles. One sharing my point of view of why Apple announced its Breakout Plan which showed its upset with the big card duopoly.

What angered Apple which led to the “Breakout”?

Another, putting the spotlight on the large concentration amongst 2 US banks that handle the bulk of ACH transactions and their pricing power.

Who is charging a x100 markup for electronic payments processing?

A third popular article was focused on the outrageous communication mismanagement practices around layoffs and hiring freezes, from several grown Fintechs.

Are compassionate Fintech leaders becoming an endangered species?

Readers were interested in my analysis of the 1 year old Shopify Treasury Baas offering and the revamped Amazon Seller Wallet service.

Anemic adoption of Baas for merchants on online marketplaces

Another popular topic was focused on the `disruptive` VC, Tiger Global, which has been very much involved in Fintech. In this article, I put the spotlight on two less known risks of Tiger Global`s strategy and actions.

Beware of powerful and ambitious Tigers amongst Big VCs

Readers interest around Halloween, was on the different ways that BigTech (Google in this article) is positioning itself in Web3.

The abduction of Web3 — Season 1 Episode `Google`

From the most recent articles, the most popular included 2 specific use cases of using low-code/ no-code digital tools in combination with Advanced Natural Language processing models in banking.

Low-code/ no-code combined with OpenAI GPT-3 and the likes

I wish you all, Happy Holidays. Next week I will share with you the most popular 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 & 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 videos of 2022.
